Holidays Have Come And Gone

Hard to believe that the holidays have come and gone.  This Christmas the grinch came to our house as all 5 of us were sick during the holidays.  Boo. We had to cancel all of our holiday get togethers that we would normally host.  It broke my heart to have to call/text family and friends and say that our plans had to be cancelled and/or rearranged.  Thankfully they all understood.  I have to give Hubs a lot of credit as he had to cook all meals for a solid week, do laundry, take care of the kids, grocery shop, and do all the Santa work himself as I was laid up in bed the entire time. I felt so guilty as it was his week off.  Not once did he complain and the house is still standing! ;)  Love that man!  Thankfully we are all healthy again (Praise God) which is a good thing as school starts back up tomorrow! <Insert a big smile on this Mommy's face!!>  It wasn't all bad...we did manage to squeeze in a few fun things!  Matt, Madeline and Kollman (along w/ my brother and 2 nephews) went to the Alamo Bowl.  They had a blast and my brother was over the moon as UT won.  Boo.  I am an Aggie fan!  I think he might have convinced Kollman to switch over to the dark side and become a UT fan.  I'll have to work on that!  Madeline and Kollman, along with other kids from our church, went caroling to the nursing home where my Grandmother resides.  Thankfully she was having a good day and even recognized Kollman!  M and K also sang with our church's childrens choir during the Sunday morning worship time.  They both had speaking parts and Madeline sang in a trio which ended up being a solo as they were having some microphone problems that morning.  We were so proud of them as they all did an amazing job!  That same evening the adult choir (which my mom, dad and brother are a part of) performed their Christmas program, complete with a full orchestra!  It was absolutely breath taking!  I always look forward to the children's and adult's performances as it truly depicts why we celebrate Christmas.  Both are always the "mood setter" for me personally.  We were also able to get in a lot of snuggle time and movie watching ...the "bright spot" in being sick.  Sadly, I only mangaged to snap a couple of pictures of our holidays.  But, I can assure you that despite being sick we were all together as a family, warm and cozy, and celebrating in our pj's with runny noses and coughs....the birthday of our King!
