New Year and New Beginnings
This year we rang in the New Year with yet another's doctors visit and trip to the pharmacy! You know it's bad when they say, "you are back again!" Thankfully I was finally somewhat back on my feet and wanted to be in my kitchen preparing New Years snacks and making homemade white chocolate pecan fudge which I look forward to doing every year with Madeline. I was in the mind-set that we were still going to entertain that evening as we caught K's ear infection early and he already had a dose of anitbiotic.... and by golly....I needed to be around adult friends!! Well, turns out the weather was awful and some of our other friends were sick so it turned out to be us 5 plus my best friends husband and their 11 year old son. She was at home recovering from neck surgery and had a massive headache, and quite frankly wanted some quite time. Don't blame her a bit! Still turned out to be a win-win. A male adult for my husband to talk/watch sports with and a playmate for the kids! I was able to finish up a ribbon wreath I was working on and had planned on doing a few other things when Kollman asked to snuggle in my bed with me. How can I say no to that?! We snuggled and ended up falling asleep well before midnight. I heard the fire works going off and realized it was midnight. Hubs came in after they shot off their fireworks and gave me a New Years smootch, put the kids to bed and calling it a night! Not the New Years I had envisioned! Needless to say there was plenty of food left over! Good thing as the next day, New Years Day, my SIL and good friend and I went on our traditional New Years Day shopping trip! Just what the doctor ordered! Looking forward to 2013 and seeing what all the Lord has instore for us!
