Happy Graduation Day!

At Thanksgiving, the hubs and I participated in "Operation Home Cooking."  For those not familiar, Operation Home Cooking is sponsored through Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas for their Airmen going through basic training to leave base and have Thankgiving dinner with particitpating families around the area.  What an honor and priveledge it was to host the two fine men that we did.  They fit in perfectly with our families, and actually became part of our family!  The Hubs came to me a few days later and said that he would like to host a Texas BBQ for  them and their families on their graduation day.  I hammered out all the details and on January 4th we, again, had the honor of priveledge of having these two along with their families in our home. The families were from Georgia and Chicago so we just had to introduce them to Texas BBQ!  We served brisket, baked beans, pinto beans, potato salad, deviled eggs and a veggie tray.  For desert we had homemade bananna budding, chocolate bundt cake and chocolate chip cookies.  Everyone raved on the food!  We kept our house decorated for Christmas knowing these families were not together during that time.  What joy it brought hubs and I to bring these families together and make them part of ours!
