Overnight Get Away

My husband's company had their annual Christmas party on December 20th in downtown San Antonio.  Chris Daughtry was the headliner and we were super pumped!!  We both are fans!  We got off to a later start than we had anticipated so after fighting downtown traffic, and the fact that it was cold and windy we decided to forgo the party and just stay in our warm, cozy room with a private balcony overlooking the beautiful river walk.  We ordered room service for dinner and just enjoyed time away from our 3 precious children.  Uninterrupted time.  What a blessing that was for us!  We are so busy just "living" that it was such a precious thing for us to be able to reconnect and actually have conversation...not to mention some rest!  We got up the next morning and stopped for Starbucks and breakfast before heading to church where we met up with our kiddos!  They were surprised and happy to see us there! All in all parties will come, and parties will go....but I will forgo them anytime to spend time with a man that I love truly and deeply!
