For Christmas all 3 of my children received new devotional books from my Mom. Their devotion is geared for their ages....10, 7 and 4. Devotional time with my children each evening is one of my favorite parts of the day. I love the fact that we end the day reading from God's word and as they drift off to sleep they know how much their Savior loves them....and how much we love them, too!
As I was reading Kollman's devotion to him the words really stuck out to me. Here is what it said:
I wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. Psalm 62:5.
When it comes to spending time with God, are you a "squeezer" or a "pleaser?" Do you squeeze God into your schedule with a prayer before mealtime, or do you please God by talking to Him far more often that that?
Wow! These words got this Mama's attention! With 3 kids and crazy busy schedules and committments, we sometimes, okay, alot of times fall short on our time for God. We seem to come up with every excuse in the book. God doesn't want our excuses....he wants our attention..our time! Funny how God used my child's devotional to speak to my heart and to remind me that He needs more of my time to mold me and make me into the wife, mother, daughter, aunt, and friend that I desire to be.
